Department of Justice Complaint Filed Alleging Disability Discrimination for Refusal to Grant a Reasonable Accommodation for an Emotional Support Animal

On August 2, 2019, the United States filed a complaint in United States v. Dally (D. Minn.), alleging that the owners and operators of a four-unit rental property in Ottertail, Minnesota, discriminated on the basis of disability by refusing to make an exception to their no pets rule to allow the complainants daughter to live with her emotional assistance cat and abruptly terminating the family’s lease.
